About us

Zaitra, established in 2020, is a startup with a primary emphasis on delivering tailored flight software and cutting-edge AI solutions for space missions. Our endeavours encompass projects for both the European Space Agency and commercial customers.

What will be your role?

In the role of a Hardware/FPGA Engineer, you will be responsible for integrating our AI models into the hardware/software solution deployed onboard spacecraft or satellites. This entails:

  • Design, implementation, and testing of IP cores on the Xilinx Zynq 7000/UltraScale+ platform, and in the future, on additional platforms.
  • Testing and verification through simulation and directly on the target hardware.
  • Integration of internal and external IP cores into the final solution.
  • Analysis of performance parameters and design of possible enhancements.
  • Preparation of IP cores documentation.

What do we expect?

  • Proficiency in VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog programming.
  • Ability to independently design, implement, and test IP cores for FPGA.
  • Knowledge of synthesis and timing analysis for FPGAs.
  • Excellent knowledge of Git (conflict resolution, rebase, commit messages).
  • Capability to study schematics and data sheets.
  • Previous experience in creating production solutions (at least personal projects).
  • Enthusiasm for space.

What is nice to have?

  • Knowledge of driver development for embedded Linux.
  • Experience with High-Level Synthesis (HLS).
  • Experience with tools from AMD/Xilinx (Vivado, Vitis).
  • Proficiency in embedded programming.
  • Understanding of PCB design.
  • Familiarity with protocols and interfaces (LVDS, CAN, SPI, Ethernet, USB, etc.).
  • Experience with Python development (most of our tools are in Python).
  • Active contribution to open-source projects.
  • Knowledge of ECSS standards.
