Here is the story
of how we got here

Founded in 2020

Zaitra was founded in 2020 after a successful hackathon attended by our three founders – Marek, Martin, and Rado. This event served as the catalyst for our ambitious venture. Soon after, Zaitra was accepted into the Copernicus Acceleration program. The company also earned the business incubation support of the European Space Agency's Business Incubation Centre (ESA BIC Czech Republic). This opportunity led us to numerous partnerships and insights.

Through these collaborations, we became an integral part of Biomission19, a mission dedicated to microgravity experiments on the International Space Station (ISS). Our responsibility included the development of a control software. Moreover, we became an essential contributor to the ambitious mission SLAVIA, as responsible for onboard data processing in the spectral analysis of meteorite compositions.

First achievements

In 2022, Zaitra achieved a significant milestone. With support from ESA BIC CZ and the South Moravian Innovation Centre (JIC), we successfully deployed our AI-based onboard solution on the VZLUSAT-2 demonstration mission. This achievement demonstrated the company's ability to deploy and perform AI-based on-board data processing tasks in space

At present, Zaitra is actively engaged in the development and deployment of onboard cloud screening and object detection solutions for two upcoming missions.

We specialize in on-board solutions for optical Earth Observation missions. Our flagship product, SKAISEN, brings multiple benefits to our customers, including cost reduction by avoiding the download of unnecessary pixels, saving communication bandwidth for more valuable data, and faster access to critical data via intelligent data prioritization.

With a dynamic team driven by innovation, Zaitra continues in changing space exploration, with solutions that not only make space missions more efficient and economical but also push the mission autonomy.
