Zaitra, established in 2020, is a startup with a primary emphasis on delivering tailored flight software and cutting-edge AI solutions for space missions. Our endeavours encompass projects for both the European Space Agency and commercial customers.
What will be your role?
- You will be responsible for all aspects of the assigned projects, which includes:
- Complete project delivery: From setting up YouTrack and tracking the budget and milestones to delivering outputs in the required quality
- Communication with partners, subcontractors, and customers: You will be communicating on an international level 🌍
- Ability to anticipate risks and mitigate them before they threaten the project – you can prioritize tasks even when things get overwhelming
- Responsibility for the project budget
- Reporting to management / ESA / TAČR / MPO
- Active collaboration with the Tech Lead with a shared goal -> successful project completion
- Ensuring high-quality project outcomes: We don’t work on projects destined for the bottom drawer; we implement agile development and continuously reflect customer requirements directly in the process
- Flexibility and agility: You will juggle 3–4 key projects at once, and your scope will be broad: from research projects and HW unit development to complex software development for satellites 🚀
What do we expect?
- 3+ years of experience in managing (software) projects – but if you are a highly passionate junior with minimal experience, we will give you the space to convince us
- C1 level of English – we don’t need a certificate, we will verify your skills in practice 🗣️
- Ability to build teams that know exactly what to do, when to deliver it, and at what cost
- Experience managing subcontractors and external resources
- Willingness to take ownership and make independent decisions
- Analytical thinking and advanced knowledge of Excel – you don’t base your opinions on a “gut feeling”, but on real data from which you can extract the essentials and push through the right solution 📊
- Communication skills and empathy – but when push comes to shove, you are not afraid to say “no” and communicate it constructively even towards the management
- Passion for space 🚀

What is nice to have?
- Previous experience with space projects for ESA and knowledge of ECSS standards 🚀
- Technical education or background that will help you better understand our HW and SW
- Experience with administration and management of grants (TAČR, ESA, MPO)
