Physical Interface

SKAIDOCK connects via a Harwin G125 50-pin connector, fully compatible with the Simera Sense xScape Control Electronics harness. No adapter boards. No modifications.

FPGA IP Core

The ztr-core-xscape-rd IP core sits between the LVDS buffers and AXI DMA, handling all real-time data processing with no CPU involvement. Operates in bypass mode or TIFF mode.

Linux Software Stack

The complete SKAIROOT Linux distribution orchestrates imager configuration, readout sequencing, and data routing.

CCSDS 123.0-B-2

Lossless image data compression in real time during readout with zero overhead. No host-side compression step is required.

The problem this solves

Modern EO imagers generate far more data than a satellite downlink can return. A single multispectral session produces hundreds of megabytes. A typical LEO pass lasts only minutes. Connecting a high-performance imager to an onboard DPU, physical bringup, LVDS timing, FPGA driver development, Linux integration, can consume months of engineering effort and carry schedule risk that compounds against launch commitments.
